Dr. Anthony Lombardo recently attended the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting in Chicago, IL. This annual, internationally-attended meeting brings together thousands of surgeons, researchers, and industry representatives to discuss the latest in ophthalmology. At this meeting, Dr. Lombardo was honored by being asked to participate in a course teaching other surgeons how to implant phakic intraocular lenses. This technology helps those with high degrees of nearsightedness to become less dependent on their glasses and contact lenses. Attendees in this instructional course included those from the United States, as well as those from as far away as Belgium and Australia.
