Michael Hodkin, MD

Bio

Michael Hodkin, M.D., M.B.A. is a board-certified Ophthalmologist who specializes in surgical and comprehensive ophthalmology.  Dr. Hodkin grew up in Florida, having completed an honors Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry from the University of Miami.  He graduated with honors from the University of Florida medical school in 1988 and completed an internship at a University of Alabama-affiliated hospital.  After finishing a three-year residency in ophthalmology at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center, he completed a two-year clinical and research fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery with renowned eye surgeons at the Louisiana State University in New Orleans.  Early in his career, he attended classes at Ball State University, Muncie, obtaining a Master of Business Administration degree in 2005.  

He has published multiple articles, a book chapter, presented at national meetings, and is a member of multiple professional organizations. 

Dr. Hodkin has done mission work in Mexico and is currently involved with a family-run charity to help feed the needy, known as Love Like Jonathon.  

Dr. Hodkin’s interests include computer programming, video editing, fishing, scuba diving, wood-working, and various other mechanical-type hobbies. 

He has lived and practiced in Muncie since 1994.  His wife, Kelly, also works in eye care as a registered nurse.  Three children and three grandchildren keep them both busy.   

Dr. Hodkin’s philosophy is that “patients don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
