Dr. Branden Shaffer joined Eye Surgeons of Indiana as a consultative optometrist in 2020. Originally from Naperville, IL, he received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Indiana University. Dr. Shaffer went on to graduate with honors from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2019.
Dr. Shaffer’s training was focused on the treatment and management of ocular disease. He completed externships at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, The Villages VA Outpatient Clinic in The Villages, FL, Indianapolis Eye Care Center, and Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers.
He then went on to complete a 13-month post-doctoral residency program at Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers in Louisville, KY. The residency is a competitive program where he trained intensively in glaucoma, cataract, retina, and cornea clinics. During the residency program he became trained and certified in expanded therapeutic procedures. He was also responsible for providing after hours emergent treatment.
We are pleased to announce that Eye Surgeons of Indiana now has offices in Muncie and Kokomo effective December 30, 2023.
The Muncie office is located at 5091 West Bethel Avenue, Suite 150 – Muncie, IN 47304. Specialists at the Muncie location will include Drs. Michael Hodkin, Anthony Lombardo, Kennedy Reed, Karen Skurner, and James Stewart. Muncie Surgical Care Center is located at the same address in Suite 100 with specialists Drs. Michael Hodkin, and Anthony Lombardo.
The Kokomo office is located at 2302 South Dixon Road, Suite 100 – Kokomo, IN 46902. Specialists at the Kokomo location will include Dr. Karen Skurner.
