The Indiana Optometric Association, representing more than 800 optometrists in Indiana, elected Dr. Damon Dierker of Eye Surgeons of Indiana as the association’s president, on April 16th, 2020. Dr. Dierker has been practicing Optometry in Indiana for over 15 years and has been a member of the IOA Executive Committee for four of those years.

As President, Dr. Dierker will lead the Executive Committee, which helps develop policy and strategy to serve the eyecare needs of millions of Hoosiers as well as the doctors who provide their care. The IOA also develops educational seminars to bring together Optometrists, industry supporters, and nationally recognized educators. The IOA continues to provide guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic, including assistance in developing office safety protocols for staff and patients.

Optometrists provide service in 87 out of 92 counties throughout the state of Indiana. Dr. Dierker is proud to have been selected by his peers to lead the Indiana Optometric Association and is committed to its success and the health and safety of all they serve.
