At Eye Surgeons of Indiana, we understand how clear vision can improve your quality of life. Our EVO ICL (Evolution Implantable Collamer Lens) procedure is a safe, FDA-approved, and biocompatible vision correction option for patients who want freedom from glasses and contact lenses—without permanently altering the cornea.
Can I Drive Myself Home After EVO ICL Surgery?
No, you should not drive yourself home after EVO ICL surgery. Although the procedure is outpatient and does not require an overnight stay, you will need a family member, friend, or our complimentary transportation service to take you home.
Your vision may be blurry immediately after surgery due to:
- Dilating eyedrops
- The normal healing process
- Bright lights used during the procedure
Most patients experience a significant improvement in vision within the first 24 hours. Your doctor will advise you when it is safe to resume driving, usually at your 1-day postoperative checkup.
