Anthony J. Lombardo, M.D., Ph.D., is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in refractive, cataract, and corneal surgery. He completed both his Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy degrees at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, where he graduated cum laude. Numerous national awards, including grants from the National Institutes of Health, supported his four years of research.
Following a one-year internal medicine internship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, Dr. Lombardo completed a three-year ophthalmology residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore, Maryland. Subsequently, he was selected for an additional prestigious one-year subspecialty fellowship program in refractive surgery at Minnesota Eye Consultants.
Dr. Lombardo serves as an instructor to train other ophthalmologists in LASIK and cataract surgery and has served as an investigator for several FDA clinical studies. Dr. Lombardo stays active in the ophthalmic community through publishing journal articles, authoring textbook chapters, and presenting at national meetings.
We are pleased to announce that Eye Surgeons of Indiana now has offices in Muncie and Kokomo effective December 30, 2023.
The Muncie office is located at 5091 West Bethel Avenue, Suite 150 – Muncie, IN 47304. Specialists at the Muncie location will include Drs. Michael Hodkin, Anthony Lombardo, Kennedy Reed, Karen Skurner, and James Stewart. Muncie Surgical Care Center is located at the same address in Suite 100 with specialists Drs. Michael Hodkin, and Anthony Lombardo.
The Kokomo office is located at 2302 South Dixon Road, Suite 100 – Kokomo, IN 46902. Specialists at the Kokomo location will include Dr. Karen Skurner.
