PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy) offers a safe and effective way to improve vision with laser precision.
What Is PRK?
PRK is a type of laser vision correction that reshapes the cornea to improve how light focuses on the retina. Unlike LASIK, PRK does not involve creating a corneal flap. Instead, the laser is applied to the outermost layers of the cornea after removing a thin surface layer.
While the visual outcomes are comparable to LASIK, PRK generally requires a slightly longer recovery period because of the difference in approach. Most patients achieve 20/20 vision or better, making PRK an excellent option for those with thinner corneas or surface irregularities that make LASIK less suitable.
