Dr. Orr is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract and laser vision correction surgeries. He received his medical degree from The Ohio State University in 1979, followed by a two-year internship at Wake Forest University in Internal Medicine. Dr. Orr completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Orr began practicing locally in 1984. He has completed over 15,000 cataract/implant procedures and more than 10,000 laser vision correction procedures. Dr. Orr was one of the first surgeons in the Midwest to use advanced cataract surgery techniques such as "no shot and no patch" cataract surgery, which allows for almost instant improvement in the patient's vision.

He also serves as the Medical Director and surgeon at TLC Laser Center-Indiana. The center, opened in 1996, is one of the first laser centers solely dedicated to laser vision correction. Dr. Orr uses the most advanced lasers available, including scanning lasers with eye tracking to correct nearly all refractive errors, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. He was one of the first doctors in Indiana to use lasers to correct nearsighted vision.
