Dr. Hummer is an ophthalmologist who specializes in vitreo-retinal care of the eye. She received her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine, and continued with an internship at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida.

Dr. Hummer completed her residency in ophthalmology at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, where she also received fellowship training in vitreo-retinal surgery. She served on the faculty at Bascom Palmer as Chief Resident before going into private practice.

Her research work has been published in several leading medical eye care journals, and she has lectured extensively on retinal treatment. Dr. Hummer has special interests in age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and comprehensive retinal pathology.
