The AcuFocus Corneal Inlay is an investigative device used to treat presbyopia - the loss of the eye's natural ability to focus at near due to age. This tiny device is placed in the cornea through a slit made with a laser. The entire procedure takes about 20 minutes. This device may improve vision by:
1) Creating a pinhole effect so near objects appear more clearly
2) Blocking unfocused light, allowing a wider range of vision
Participants in this study will be tested for improvement in near vision following implantation of the device. Eye Surgeons of Indiana is the number one recruiting site for this trial in the entire country.
Enrollment for this trial, however, is now closed. Please contact us for additional information about vision correction options.
