Chirag C. Patel, M.D., is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of retinal diseases including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and retinal detachments. Dr. Patel received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, Illinois. He continued his training with an internship at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Evanston, Illinois. Following his ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, he completed two years of subspecialty fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Patel's research work has been published in several leading ophthalmology journals and he has lectured extensively on retinal disease and treatments. Dr. Patel has authored numerous book chapters and regularly gives presentations at national meetings. Dr. Patel has special interests in age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachment surgery.

Dr. Patel offers consultations at the Indianapolis, Greenfield, and Anderson offices. He is on the Medical Staff at Hancock Regional Hospital and Community Hospitals.
